How It Works The Beier RS2000 is specifically designed for vessels that must hold position relative to rigs and platforms. The system is made up of three components: a Reference/Transmitter unit, a recharging unit, and a receiving unit. The Reference/Transmitter unit contains a GPS receiver and computer that calculates the platform's exact position and GPS error factor. A low power 900MHz radio transmitter then sends postion and error information to your vessel via a 900MHz receiver interfaced to your DGPS. Once your vessel's DGPS has the postion correction information, your vessel will be able to use the platform as its reference point. |
|
|
Accuracy Since our error correction point and your vessel are less than one mile apart, accuracy in field tests has proven to be "as good as" within plus or minus one (1) foot of the selected "Hold" position. |
